2007 FESTIVALS
Oxford Festival was really enjoyable with a new and much improved venue for children's events. See below for more information and pictures.
We had a wonderful time at Dartmoor Festival this year where we were asked to provide a Cuckoo Craft Workshop for children. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed running the sessions and also being at the Festival.
Towersey Festival ran form 23rd-27th August 2007 and as well as organising the Children's Festival we provided Cuckoo Crafts, Mini Crafts and Mini Melodeon sessions. See below for more information on these events.
2008 FESTIVALS
We had a great time at Loughborough Festival Where we ran Cuckoo Crafts sessions, Mini Melodeons and Fun Percussion Workshops on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
Oxford Folk Festival Cuckoo Craft sessions and Mini Melodeons were really enjoyable this year with many appreciative children (and parents!)
The Gate to Southwell Folk Festival (01636 816678) 6th 7th 8 th June 2008. Ray will be running a series of mini melodeon workshops for children from local schools on the Friday followed by another session on the Saturday as part of teh festival's children's events. Towersey Festival runs from 21st-25th August 2008 next year and we will be there!

A superb weekend with lots of happy children and very happy parents!
The mini melodeon sessions attracted a small but very enthusiastic group of young people who all left having learnt two or three tunes on the melodeon. Perhaps these will be the John Kirkpatricks and Andy Cuttings of the future!
The Green Man workshops were crowded with children all of whom left with Green Man masks and wall plaques. See the pictures page for examples.
Greg and Kay Smallbone ran two very popular song and percussion sessions. The second provided an opportunity for the children to take part in a percussion version of the 'Bear Hunt'.
Fun with Foam craft session were hugely popular as ever.

TOWERSEY FESTIVAL
23rd-27th August 2007
A massive program of events is on offer for children and families in the Children's Centre. From 9.00 in the morning to 5.00 in the afternoon there are workshops and events for under the 6's, 5-8 year olds and over 8's. Evening Family shows include shows by Trevor Organ, Peter Optical and Pekko's Puppets.
Children's workshops include; Cuckoo Crafts, Mini Crafts, Mini Melodeons, Towzer! (band workshop), Table Top Crafts, Crafty Fun and Mime plus stories, singing, games outside shows and lots of fun.
